Elementary schools qualify for CEP

Saluda School District One is pleased to announce that we will provide breakfast and lunch to the students enrolled at Hollywood Elementary, Saluda Elementary and Saluda Primary School.  Meals at no cost to parents are made possible because of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.  Each school cafeteria provides a healthy breakfast and lunch each day.  We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opporutunity.

The breakfast meal consists of a choice of the following components each day: Grain, Grain or Meat/Meat alternate, Fruit or Juice, Milk.  Students must select at least 3 items from the 4 components for breakfast and one item must be fruit or juice.

The lunch meal consists of a choice of the following components each day: Meat/Meat alternate, Vegetable, Fruit, Grain, Milk.  Students must select at least 3 items from the 5 components (they may have all 5 if they wish) and one must be a fruit or vegetable.  The required number of items must be selected for breakfast and lunch or students will be charged ala carte prices for each individual item.  If your child brings a sandwich from home they can pick up 3 items from the line(one must be a fruit or veggie) with no charge to the family.

Students will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of snacks that comply with the "Smart snacks sold in schools"regulations.  They must have cash in hand...NO CHARGES will be allowed.
