SPS Students Tour the Town

SPS Students Tour the Town
On Thursday, September 28th, 138 students and chaperones from Saluda Primary took a walking field trip around uptown Saluda. They even had a police escort which made them feel like celebrities! The students had just completed their study of community helpers. They saw many signs of fall as well. Mayor Amelia Herlong and the staff at Town Hall welcomed them to Saluda. They also toured the Courthouse, Police Department, Library, and met some neighbors at the Sentinel office and St. Paul UMC. There walk included a trip  to the fire station where they saw uniforms, fire trucks, and even an ambulance!  When asked what their favorite parts were the students commented on most everything!  One student's favorite part was walking side by side with her partner. It was a wonderful trip!  Thank you to our town and service workers for providing us an interesting history lesson on our town!
